I’m a commissioned notary and my state allows remote notary and online notary

If you are a commissioned notary in a state such as Virginia or Montana, your state allows you to perform both electronic notary acts as well as remote notary or online notary. DocVerify’s notary platform enables notaries to provide both types of notarizations.

The difference between electronic notary and remote or online notary is that electronic notarizations require physical presence as everyone must be in the same place at the same time, and remote or online notarizations allow for the notary to be in one location and the participant in another where the notarial act is done through a web cam session.

States that allow remote notarizations also require some form of Identity Verification of the participants, and this is usually done with what is known as knowledge based authentication or KBA.  In addition to that, more recent states will also require some form of ID capture to ensure that the person is who they claim to be.

DocVerify’s platform is the only product on the internet today that allows the notary to be their own boss, and to be able to provide these types of notarial acts by enabling the notary with the tools they need to be successful.  The notary platform is feature rich as it has the required audio / video capabilities, recording capabilities, enhanced ID verification, ID capture, and fully features electronic signature system.

Notaries that utilize DocVerify as their provider have greater success rates, and better user experience.  Getting set up with DocVerify is easy.  Every new notary must fill out DocVerify’s notary application with a small application fee, and if the notary intends on providing remote notarizations to also be on the Enterprise edition.
